I was rather clueless about a career in art until I realized that companies needed artwork for their advertising and promotion. Suddenly there was a broad segment of art that I was very comfortable doing. I could develop a specific style and/or treatment that best achieved the visual goals of a client or firm. I could tell a story, communicate a message, and even portray a feeling or mood in a variety of mediums and artistic styles. The path was set and I followed over the years, developing skills required to draw, paint, cartoon, and use the tools from pencils and brushes to the computer.
