I started really painting when I began my figurative work. It was a natural extension from my drawing but I had only worked in acrylics and watercolor. Influenced by the fanciful contemporary works of Michael Parkes, I was encouraged to try oil painting. I loved it and was hooked. I began to lean toward the realistic style of another French artist, William Bouguereau, as my angel paintings developed.  I enjoy the challenge of painting people. Finding just the right gesture and expression in the moment allows involvement from both sides of the canvas.
